About this vaporizer
The Dr. Dabber Aurora is a concentrate (wax) pen with three magnetic swappable atomizers (dual quartz rod, ceramic halo, dual ceramic rod), three heat settings (green/blue/pink) and the SnapTech magnetic system. Lithium-ion battery with a magnetic USB charger, 250–300 hits per charge. For concentrates only — no dry herb.
The Dr. Dabber Aurora is a concentrate pen (wax pen) whose standout feature is its three magnetic swappable atomizers: dual quartz rod, ceramic halo and dual ceramic rod. The SnapTech magnetic system snaps the battery, atomizer and mouthpiece together without tools. Three heat settings (green, blue, pink) are selected via one-button operation.
Important: the Aurora vaporizes concentrates only (wax, shatter, budder) — no dry herb. Dr. Dabber has sold the Aurora since around 2016 as a wax pen with swappable coils. Find current offers in the price comparison.

SnapTech & Three Atomizers
The heart of the Aurora is its three included atomizers, which you swap magnetically depending on the concentrate and the vapor profile you want. Each has its own character:
| Atomizer | Build | Strength | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dual quartz rod | Two quartz rods | Pure, intense flavor | Thicker concentrates, terpenes |
| Ceramic halo | Ceramic dish | Small, discreet clouds | Thinner oils, medium/high setting |
| Dual ceramic rod | Two ceramic rods | Dense, big clouds | Maximum vapor |
The SnapTech magnetic system connects battery, atomizer and mouthpiece with no threads — just snap them together. Swapping coils takes seconds and makes the Aurora the most versatile of the classic wax pens.
Research context: A study in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Hazekamp et al., 2006) showed that controlled vaporization releases most of the desired active compounds while largely avoiding combustion by-products. Source: PubMed 16637053
Three Heat Settings
The Aurora has three fixed heat settings, shown by LED color and cycled via one-button operation. There is no degree-by-degree control.
| LED | Setting | Vapor profile | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Green | Low | Aromatic, cool | Flavor, terpenes |
| Blue | Medium | Balanced | Everyday, ceramic halo |
| Pink | High | Dense, warm | Maximum extraction |
Three atomizers times three settings give many combinations — the same atomizer tastes different on green than on pink. If you want degree-by-degree control and an app, an e-rig like the Dr. Dabber Boost EVO is the better fit.
Magnetic System & Mouthpieces
The Aurora comes with two mouthpieces in the box. Both are magnetic and detach for cleaning:
- Ceramic mouthpiece: sits on the vented regulator shell for even, smooth draws
- Shotgun mouthpiece (ceramic): noticeably more airflow for bigger clouds
The vented regulator shell regulates airflow and shields your hand from the heat of the atomizer. Because SnapTech is fully magnetic, there are no threads to wear out or gum up.
Battery & Magnetic Charging
The lithium-ion battery lasts for 250–300 hits per charge per the manufacturer. It charges via a magnetic USB charger — the battery has no standard charge port, just a magnetic contact. A full charge takes about 2 hours. Dr. Dabber does not officially state the exact mAh capacity.
The magnetic contact is convenient (no plugging in) but proprietary: lose the charging cable and you need a replacement from the maker — a regular USB-C cable will not work. A separate charging dock is available as an accessory.
Compared with port-charged pens like the XVape V-One 2.0, magnetic charging is more comfortable but less flexible on the go.
Concentrates Only
The Aurora is a pure concentrate vaporizer for wax, shatter, budder, crumble and similar extracts. Dry herb does not work — the open coil atomizers are not designed for it.
You steer the experience by choosing the atomizer: dual quartz rod for flavor, dual ceramic rod for clouds, ceramic halo for discreet small hits. If you want a single-coil pen with a glass bubbler, the XVape V-One 2.0 is a cheaper alternative; for a more compact, newer Dr. Dabber pen, look at the Dr. Dabber XS.
Cleaning & Atomizer Replacement
The coil atomizers are wear parts. With regular use flavor drops off after a few weeks — then you swap the atomizer (replacements are sold individually). Thanks to SnapTech the swap is a single move.
Cleaning steps
- Detach atomizer and mouthpiece while still warm after the last session (residue comes off more easily warm)
- Keep the magnetic contacts dry — no isopropyl alcohol directly on the battery contact
- Wipe the mouthpiece and regulator shell with isopropyl alcohol
- Carefully clean the atomizer dish with a cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol
- Let all parts dry completely before snapping them back together
The quartz and ceramic rods are delicate — do not overheat them dry and do not scrape them hard.

No. The Aurora is a concentrate-only pen for wax, shatter and budder. The open coil atomizers are not designed for dry herb.
The dual quartz rod delivers pure, intense flavor; the ceramic halo makes small, discreet clouds and prefers thinner oils; the dual ceramic rod produces dense, big clouds. All three are included and swap magnetically.
Three fixed settings, shown by LED color: green (low), blue (medium), pink (high). You cycle them with one-button operation. There is no degree-by-degree control.
Via a magnetic USB charger — the battery has no standard charge port, just a magnetic contact. A full charge takes about 2 hours. A regular USB-C cable will not work.
Dr. Dabber does not officially state the exact mAh capacity. The manufacturer cites around 250–300 hits per charge with about a 2-hour charge time.
Coil atomizers are wear parts. With regular use flavor drops off after a few weeks — then you swap the atomizer. Replacements are sold individually, and thanks to SnapTech the swap is a single move.
The Aurora is more versatile thanks to three swappable atomizers. The XVape V-One 2.0 is cheaper and includes a glass bubbler for water cooling, but has only one coil. For maximum flexibility pick the Aurora; for cool draws at a low price pick the V-One 2.0.
Dr. Dabber gives a 1-year warranty on the battery and USB charger.
