The CCELL Sandwave is a compact 510-thread battery for oil and concentrate cartridges – not a dry herb vaporizer, but a dedicated cart battery built around simplicity. There is no button: pulling on the cartridge activates the device automatically (draw activation). A slide switch on the side sets the voltage to 2.8 V, 3.2 V, or 3.6 V. The built-in 400 mAh battery charges via USB-C, and the magnetic drop-in 510 connection lets you swap cartridges in seconds. Current prices across shops are listed in our CCELL Sandwave price comparison.

Draw Activation: No Button Required
The Sandwave has no power button and no fire button. Airflow from drawing on the cartridge mouthpiece triggers the heating circuit directly. This mirrors the experience of a disposable pen and makes the device straightforward for anyone switching from single-use carts.
The trade-off is that there is no way to lock the device. In a bag or pocket, accidental pressure on the cartridge can trigger a draw. Removing the cartridge before travel – or using a protective case – prevents this. Most users find the convenience outweighs the risk for everyday use.
Three Voltage Settings via Slide Switch
The side-mounted slide switch steps through 2.8 V, 3.2 V, and 3.6 V. Each setting suits a different type of cartridge or oil consistency:
- 2.8 V – lower heat for thin oils and flavor-sensitive carts. Less vapor, more terpene expression.
- 3.2 V – mid-range setting, well-suited for most standard 510 carts. A reliable starting point.
- 3.6 V – higher heat for thicker distillates or high-resistance atomizers. More vapor, stronger hit.
The tactile slide switch is easy to move by feel without looking at the device.
Magnetic Drop-In 510 Connection
Instead of threading a cartridge directly onto the battery, the Sandwave uses a magnetic adapter. The cart snaps in magnetically and holds securely during use. Swapping between cartridges takes a few seconds with no threading required.
The maximum cartridge diameter is 11.5 mm, which covers virtually all standard 510 carts. A viewing window on the back of the device lets you check the cartridge fill level without removing it. Small detail, genuinely useful.
Battery, Charging, and Dimensions
The built-in battery holds 400 mAh. How many draws that translates to varies with the cartridge and voltage setting, but it is on par with similar compact batteries. Charging is via USB-C, compatible with modern cables.
The Sandwave measures 60 × 38 × 16 mm and weighs little enough to disappear into a pocket. The flat rectangular shape with the silicone wave grip gives it a secure hold and makes it resistant to sliding on surfaces. Street price is around $20 / €20.
Who Is the CCELL Sandwave For?
The Sandwave is aimed at cartridge users who want a reliable, no-fuss battery from a proven brand. CCELL is one of the most recognized names in the 510 space, and the Sandwave is their straightforward everyday carry option: compact, draw-activated, with just enough voltage choice to cover different carts.
This is not a device for dry herb or loose concentrates. It is purpose-built for pre-filled 510 cartridges. If that is what you use, the Sandwave delivers. Other CCELL products are listed on the CCELL brand page.
