The Lookah Dinosaur is a concentrate pen where the design immediately catches the eye — the device is actually shaped like a small dinosaur, with a ceramic tip as the "snout" and an integrated water filter attachment. Lookah is known for unusual designs, and the Dinosaur takes this to the extreme. Anyone wanting a device that looks sober and functional should look elsewhere. Anyone who enjoys an entertaining form factor will be happy here.
Behind the toy-like exterior, however, lies a functional concentrate pen. The ceramic tip is decent quality — ceramic heats evenly and leaves no metallic taste. Heat-up time is around 5 seconds, which is good for quick dabbing. The battery holds 950 mAh, enough for several sessions without recharging.
The small water filter attachment cools the vapor noticeably. It is removable and needs to be filled with water, which requires minimal preparation. For concentrate vapor that can otherwise be harsh, the cooling is a genuine improvement.
Maximum temperature is 300 °C, with three temperature levels selectable by clicking. There is no passthrough charging, but with nearly 1000 mAh the battery life is acceptable.
As a device to pass around at a party, the Dinosaur is ideal — it breaks the ice and works well at the same time. As a primary device for serious concentrate users who want maximum performance and temperature control, it is too limited. For relaxed, occasional use with a wink, though, it delivers solid fun.
