Convection without electricity

The Convector V2 completely dispenses with a battery, display and electronics. The heat comes from an external source — traditionally from a windproof lighter with a torch flame, although any suitable heat source will work in principle. The patent-pending heating design uses low thermal mass: it absorbs heat quickly and transfers it to the herbs as a convection airflow instead of requiring a lengthy preheating period. Draw resistance is particularly low.

Camouflet manufactures the Convector V2 from titanium and stainless steel, with a ceramic component in the vapor path and Viton FPM rings providing the seals. Weighing approximately 13 grams, the device is lighter than most of the lighters used to operate it — a compelling advantage for carrying it in a trouser pocket or using it as a backup device. There are simply no failure-prone electronics that could break.
