Three Settings Instead of a Dial
According to the manual, the Slick has three preset settings indicated by an LED:
- Setting 1, blue: 196 °C (385 °F)
- Setting 2, green: 205 °C (400 °F)
- Setting 3, red: 215 °C (420 °F)
Pressing three times quickly advances one setting; after the third it cycles back to the first. Whilst heating, the LED flashes; once the temperature is reached, it lights up continuously and the device vibrates for two seconds. A heating cycle lasts five minutes. Flowermate lists the middle setting elsewhere as 405 °F, approximately 207 °C.
Flowermate does not specify a heat-up time.
Chamber, Pod and Oil Insert
The black ceramic chamber holds up to 0.4 g. Herbs are loaded finely to medium ground into a stainless steel pod, which is placed into the chamber. A verified list of included items is not available here. Please check the specific offer. Flowermate recommends using the highest setting and 0.2 to 0.3 ml of oil.
According to the manufacturer, the airpath is isolated and leads upward to the borosilicate glass mouthpiece.
How Do I Charge the Battery Properly?
The Slick runs on an 18650 battery with 2500 mAh. To swap it, unscrew the cap at the bottom. Charging is via a Micro-USB port at 5 V; the LED lights up red whilst charging and green when fully charged.
The manual explicitly warns against using the Slick whilst charging, as doing so can damage the device. A second charged battery is therefore the better solution for longer days on the go.
Cleaning
Flowermate advises emptying the chamber after each session to prevent resin build-up. The pod and oil insert will be hot afterwards and should be emptied on a heat-resistant surface. The chamber can be wiped out with alcohol wipes, and the glass mouthpiece cleaned with warm water, alcohol wipes, or briefly soaked in isopropanol. Allow everything to dry before the next use and heat off any alcohol residue.
