How to Use - Getting Started
The DynaVap M Plus runs without a battery or electronics. You heat a stainless steel cap with a lighter and wait for the click - that's your temperature signal. Small, fast, and efficient: the M Plus needs just 0.05-0.1 g per load.
1. Prepare Your Torch
Use a single or dual-flame jet lighter. Regular soft flames (like a BIC) don't work well - they heat too slowly and unevenly. Fill the jet lighter with butane gas before first use. You can also use an induction heater if you prefer to skip the open flame.
2. Load the Tip
Remove the cap. Grind your herbs medium-fine and fill the tip loosely - about 0.05 to 0.1 g is all you need. Don't press it down! With DynaVap, less is more. Put the cap back on - it should snap into place with a light click.
3. Heat It Up
Hold the DynaVap at a 45-degree angle and apply the flame to the cap. Rotate continuously so the heat spreads evenly.
- Flame near the base of the cap - longer heat-up, thicker vapor, stronger extraction
- Flame near the tip of the cap - faster heat-up, lighter vapor, more flavor
Wait for the CLICK. That's your signal: remove the flame immediately.
4. Draw Technique
After the click: draw slowly for 8-10 seconds. The airport (carb hole) on the side controls your airflow:
- Cover the airport - thicker vapor, more resistance
- Leave it open - cooler, lighter draw
Try different combos - everyone finds their own sweet spot.
5. Respect the Cool-Down Click
After your draw, the cap cools down. You'll hear a second click - that's the cool-down click. Only reheat after this second click. Going back to the flame before it clicks risks combustion instead of vaporization. You'll typically get 2-3 heat cycles per bowl.
6. After Your Session
Let the DynaVap cool down completely. Remove the cap, push out the spent material with the condenser. Wipe the tip with a dry cloth. Once a week, soak the condenser and tip in isopropyl alcohol and check the o-rings for wear.
5 Common Beginner Mistakes
- Heating past the click - The most common mistake. Stop heating the moment you hear the click, or you'll combust.
- Not rotating - Without rotation you get hot spots. One side burns while the other stays cold.
- Using a soft flame lighter - BIC flames are too diffuse. You need a jet lighter for precise heating.
- Packing too tight - Blocks airflow completely. Fill loosely, don't press down.
- Skipping the cool-down click - Reheating before the second click = combustion. Patience pays off every time.
