Battery care encompasses the intended charging, storage and maintenance of a specific device. Runtime, charge-indicator behavior and chemical aging are distinct questions. General percentage rules are no substitute for the instructions for the system in use.
Why does the specific battery guidance matter?
A device battery is operated according to a particular charging and protection concept. General rules for a single cell do not automatically apply to a complete device. Permanently built-in battery packs and approved replaceable cells must therefore be considered separately.

What matters when storing and transporting the device?
The device should be stored in the intended switched-off and cooled-down state. When cells are removable, the contacts must be protected against accidental contact with conductive objects. Loose cells must not be carried unprotected alongside keys or coins in a bag or pocket.

A permanently built-in battery should not be opened without appropriate guidance solely on the suspicion of aging. For replaceable cells, only the specification expressly approved by the manufacturer must be used; the same form factor alone is not sufficient.
How does one document a possible need for replacement?
A simple log can record the date, the program used, the observed runtime, and any irregularities. This separates repeatable changes from isolated outliers. A percentage shown on a display is the device’s own estimate, not a complete cell measurement.
The assessment of a fault and any subsequent replacement are governed by the service specifications. Confirming a specific remaining capacity requires an appropriate measurement. A blanket number of charge cycles should not be used as a guaranteed failure date or safety deadline.
Why care guidance is tied to the device generation
