Build and Materials
The housing is made of plastic and finished in black. The diameter is 100 mm. The round shape is visually inspired by an ashtray, but the scale serves exclusively as a weighing device. Heat or embers must not come into contact with the surface, as the material is not designed for that.
Measurement Technology and Functions
The measurement range runs from 0.01 to 100 grams, with a minimum readable increment of 0.01 grams. An overload indicator warns when the maximum weight is exceeded. The tare function allows you to zero the display with a container already placed on the scale. Calibration and auto-off are also built in.
What's Included
Two AAA batteries are included in the box, making the scale ready to use immediately after unpacking. The included instruction manual covers six languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Dutch.
Usage
A calibration is recommended before first use. When weighing in a container, use the tare function to subtract the container's own weight. The auto-off function preserves battery life during longer breaks. Moisture and direct heat exposure should be avoided.
FAQ
Can I actually use the scale as an ashtray?
No, the BLscale Digital Scale Ashtray is explicitly not suitable for use as an ashtray. The ashtray design is purely aesthetic. Embers or high temperatures can damage the plastic housing.
What batteries are required, and are they included?
The scale runs on two AAA batteries, which are already included in the box. You can start using it right after unpacking without needing to buy extra batteries.
How precise is the scale, and what quantities is it suitable for?
The resolution is 0.01 grams, and the measurement range goes up to 100 grams. This allows very small quantities to be measured accurately. An overload indicator appears if the maximum weight is exceeded.
How does the tare function work?
The tare function zeros the display after you place a container on the scale. This way, only the weight of the contents is shown, not the container itself. It makes weighing ingredients in bowls or bags much easier.
What languages is the manual available in?
The included instruction manual is available in six languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Dutch. No separate app or digital manual is required.
