The Vapir Rise (first generation, 2013) is a desktop vaporizer with a ceramic heater and stainless steel air path that fills balloons and draws through a whip. Adjustable but not switchable fan, digital display, HEPA filter at the intake. Succeeded by the Rise 2.0.
The first generation has long since been replaced by the Rise 2.0 and now only appears as clearance stock.
Balloon and whip from one device
The Rise covers both desktop methods: with the fan, it fills balloons; without it, you can draw through the whip, while a four-way adapter distributes the airflow across several tubes. You can set the temperature and fan speed in Celsius or Fahrenheit using a large digital display; it reaches operating temperature in under one minute.
Ceramic, stainless steel, HEPA
The heating element is ceramic, while the entire air path is made of stainless steel – Vapir aimed for the most neutral flavor possible. Unusually for 2013, a HEPA filter is positioned in front of the air intake and keeps dust out of the device. The Rise 2.0 retained both features.
Why the 2.0 was introduced
The first generation had three weaknesses that reviewers immediately identified: numerous individual parts, a comparatively low maximum temperature and a fan that could be adjusted but not switched off completely. The Rise 2.0 (“Ultimate") raised the temperature to 215 °C, improved the balloon system and made it possible to switch off the fan. Anyone who finds a V1 today will get an affordable but noisy desktop device.
