The Simrell FMJ (Full Metal Jacket) by Simrell is not a standalone vaporizer, but a high-quality metal body for DynaVap VapCaps. What is the FMJ?

The Simrell FMJ is a replacement body for DynaVap Tips. You therefore need a DynaVap Tip (the actual heating chamber) to use the FMJ. It replaces the standard DynaVap body and provides better heat retention thanks to its thicker metal. The additional metal mass acts as a heat reservoir around the Captive Cap; the FMJ itself does not contain a heater.

Research context: A study in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Hazekamp et al., 2006) showed that vaporization at controlled temperatures releases more than 95 % of the desired active compounds, while largely avoiding combustion by-products. Source: PubMed 16637053

← Back to Overview
Is the Simrell FMJ a complete vaporizer? +

No, you also need a DynaVap Tip (heating chamber) and a Cap. The FMJ only replaces the body/stem.

Which DynaVap Tips fit? +

All common DynaVap Tips fit the FMJ.

How is the FMJ heated? +

Like any DynaVap — with a jet lighter or an induction heater. The Click from the Cap indicates when the temperature has been reached.

Can I use dosing capsules? +

Yes, DynaVap dosing capsules fit inside the Tip as usual.

Why is the FMJ better than the standard body? +

More metal mass stores more heat. This provides longer heating cycles, denser vapour and better extraction.

Does a water filter adapter fit? +

Yes, a 10mm or 14mm adapter allows the FMJ to be connected to a water pipe.
