Key Facts — Dr. Dabber Boost EVO Portable · Heating: Conduction · Heat-up: 11s · Battery: 3400 mAh · Weight: 363g · From: €156 · Shops: 6

The Dr. Dabber Boost EVO is a portable e-rig built exclusively for concentrates. With an 11-second heat-up and a temperature range from 260 to 400 °C, it targets the sweet spot where waxes and oils release their full flavor. Built-in water filtration cools the vapor before inhalation — a feature rarely found in portable devices.

The 3,400 mAh battery delivers enough power for extended sessions. At 363 grams, the Boost EVO is not pocket-sized — it is more of a portable table rig you bring to the balcony or to a friend's place. Available at 10 shops across Europe — check the price comparison. What Is an E-Rig — and Who Is It For?

An e-rig (electronic rig) is the battery-powered version of a dab rig. Instead of a torch, the battery heats the crucible to the desired temperature. The Boost EVO belongs to the portable e-rig category — unlike traditional dab rigs, it needs neither a power outlet nor an open flame.

E-rigs are for users who work exclusively with concentrates. Dry herbs are not supported on the Boost EVO. If you want both, look elsewhere. But if you are specifically looking for a portable concentrate vaporizer with water filtration, this is a purpose-built tool.

Dr. Dabber is a US manufacturer that has focused on concentrate devices for years. The Boost EVO is the evolution of the original Boost line, using conduction heating with a replaceable atomizer.

Research context: A study in the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Hazekamp et al., 2006) showed that vaporisation at controlled temperatures releases over 95% of target compounds while largely avoiding combustion by-products. Source: PubMed 16637053

What is an e-rig? +

An e-rig (electronic rig) replaces the traditional dab rig and torch with a battery-powered system. The Dr. Dabber Boost EVO heats the crucible electronically to 260 to 400 °C — no open flame, no power outlet. Portable and with built-in water filtration.

Can the Boost EVO vaporize dry herbs? +

No. The Boost EVO is designed exclusively for concentrates (waxes, oils). The atomizer and the temperature range of 260 to 400 °C are not suited for dry herbs. You need a different device for herbs.

How long does the Boost EVO battery last? +

The 3,400 mAh battery delivers roughly 30 to 50 sessions per charge depending on temperature level. Higher levels drain more power. Charges via USB-C in about 2 to 2.5 hours. Passthrough is supported.

How do you clean the Dr. Dabber Boost EVO? +

Swab the warm atomizer with a cotton swab after every session. Weekly, soak atomizer and glass in isopropyl alcohol (90%+). Change the filtration water every 1 to 2 days.

How does the Boost EVO water filtration work? +

Vapor passes through a built-in water chamber before inhalation. The water cools the vapor and filters particles. It makes the biggest difference at higher temperature levels above 350 °C.

Boost EVO vs Puffco Peak — what are the differences? +

The Boost EVO has a larger battery (3,400 vs 3,000 mAh), heats up in 11 seconds, and offers 6 temperature levels. It weighs more at 363 g. Both have water filtration. The Boost EVO has no app; the Peak Pro does. Different approaches to the same goal.

When does the atomizer need replacing? +

The atomizer is a wear part that lasts 3 to 6 months with regular cleaning. Signs it needs replacing: declining flavor, longer heat-up time, uneven vaporization. Replacements are available from accessory retailers.

What temperature for which concentrate? +

260–300 °C for flavor-focused sessions with terpene-rich concentrates. 300–350 °C as an all-rounder. 350–400 °C for thick clouds and maximum extraction. Thicker concentrates (budder, crumble) handle higher temperatures better than thin oils.

How heavy is the Boost EVO? +

363 grams — heavier than typical portable vaporizers (100–150 g), but that includes built-in water filtration and a large 3,400 mAh battery. It fits in a jacket pocket or backpack but is not a trouser pocket device.

Can you use the Boost EVO while charging? +

Yes. The Boost EVO supports passthrough charging via USB-C. You can keep it plugged in and use it at the same time. Especially handy for longer sessions at home.
